The Village of Mount Horeb Building and Zoning Department deals with questions regarding construction, code issues, uses of property, signs, permits, licenses, and other zoning-related questions.
Any project that involves new construction or remodeling will require a permit. In most cases, that permit involves a simple application and review by the Building Department prior to approval. In some cases, an application must be referred to the Plan Commission, Village Board, or to the Zoning Board of Appeals for review and approval. You will be informed at the time you apply if there will be additional review time and approvals required for your project.
