The Mount Horeb Municipal Court has jurisdiction over persons between the ages of 12 and 16 years of age charged with non-traffic ordinance violations. Juveniles have the same rights as adults with respect to pleas. They have the right to private or closed proceedings. Victims of a juvenile act have the right to be present for all hearings. A monetary judgment may be entered against a juvenile found guilty. Juveniles may also be responsible for restitution up to $4,000. Failure to pay a forfeiture or restitution may result in sanctions not limited to suspension of operating privileges (or suspension at application), or certification of your debt with the WI Tax Intercept Program or the Department of Revenue State Debt Collection Program. All juvenile cases will be held in a private conference room. If the juvenile is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must appear in court with them.
