Commercial & Industrial

New construction or additions to commercial, industrial and multifamily structure of 3 or more units must be reviewed by the Village of Mount Horeb Zoning Department for approval and any necessary requirements. This also includes any change of occupancy or use of existing commercial and industrial buildings.

  Note:  Certain projects may require design review - see Chart 1 (below) and/or view the Zoning page   

Application Submittal

General Engineering Company has a new online permit process.  Prior to submitting your application, please be sure to gather the following as need for your specific permit:

  • Contractor information, including license number(s) and expiration date(s)
  • Electronic copies of all plans Including site plans (if required)
  • Parcel Number this can be found at Access Dane (157-060x-xxx-xxxx-x)


What Happens After I Submit My Application?

The building inspector will review your application and plans, calculate the appropriate fees, and approve your permit.  If he needs more information in order to issue your permit, he will contact you.  Once your permit is issued, you will be contacted by email and informed of the fee and payment options.  No work should begin until you have an approved permit.
